One more body found at AN-12 crash site
By Kanwar Yogendra
Shimla
Aug.12.
The body of another missing solider has been retrieved from the south Dakka glacier, site of an AN-12 crash in February 1968. Indian Air Force sources at the Batal base camp said that their part of the search operation is over and now the Army team was pursuing the operation "punaruthan."
The salvage operation was launched by the Army and the Air Force to recover the bodies and wreckage of the AN-12 transport aircraft, when a mountaineering expedition stumbled upon the site last month. The wreckage is lying on the foothills of the CB-13 and CB-14 peaks at a height of 20,000 ft. The first skeletal remains spotted in July were identified as that of Beli Ram.
