Letters to the Editor
Sir, The President, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam's aspiration and advice to put a moratorium on issues blocking our development are most timely. His touching reference to what we leave for future generations should be taken seriously. We are witnessing times, when, in contrast to what our President said, the executive is totally sold over to building temples. While our Prime Minister reiterates his resolve to build a temple, his deputy rode to power with the slogan of mandir vahin banayenge. And the political outfit to which they belong is counting the places where temples are necessary.
Ram Puniyani,
Sir, We belong to a great nation with a rich heritage and an immense potential to become a leader. We are poor not by accident but by pure design. Let us give up our ego and strive towards building a prosperous India.
A. D. Navaneethan,
