TLBC to be repaired by tomorrow

By Our Staff Correspondent

KARATAGI (KOPPAL DISTRICT) AUG. 23. The KPCC President, B. Janardhana Poojary, has said that farmers have been in distress due to the lack of adequate water supply in the Tungabhadra left bank canal (TLBC), and he has received complaints from farmers that M. Mallikarjunappa Nagappa, Minister in charge of Koppal District, failed to inspect the canal which has breached several times.

Addressing presspersons here on Friday, he said he had asked officials to speed up repairs of the canal and release water into it by Monday to facilitate sowing operations in the command area. He said the Minister should have made several visits to the spot to inspect the canal. The Congress would not hesitate to deny him the party ticket for the next elections to the Legislative Assembly elections, he added.
