Letters to the Editor
Sir, This has reference to the article "Saraswati Vandana made mandatory at NBT book fairs" ( Oct. 2 ). Many musicians such as K.J. Yesudas and Bismillah Khan offer salutations to Goddess Saraswati, who is the mother of learning. The author is wrong in implying that the move reflects a hidden agenda. Raghunarayan, Mysore * * * Sir, Our age old traditions have not only to be preserved, but also nurtured and propagated. Some people who are not conversant with our heritage object to such formalities. They should be properly educated about our culture. Dhiraj Dangoria, Hyderabad
