On The Hindu

Sir, — I grew up playing cricket and reading The Hindu. The Hindu is to journalism what Sachin Tendulkar is to cricket.

Sir, — Rev. Boyd, Principal, Madras Christian College, used to tell his students: "Read the editorials in The Hindu to improve your English". I have been a reader of the paper since 1927,when I was a student of IV form.

Sir, — My interaction with The Hindu started in 1947, when I was studying in II form in a high school located in a remote village, Innanje, in the then south Canara district under the Madras Presidency.

I was first attracted by the big film advertisement on the front page. Then I started reading the sports column. Since then, I have been continuously reading The Hindu.

K.G. Rau,
Udupi, Karnataka
