Doyen of music

Sir, — The golden chapter of one of the greatest music stalwarts of the last generation in the history of classical Carnatic music has come to an end with the death of Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer. He was a man who inspired generations of musicians and set high standards of purity and devotion.
