In a letter to the Tourism Minister, K. V. Thomas, here today, its secretary, M. Vijayakumaran, said that the HUDCO is willing to grant funds for heritage towns and cities and hence the State Government should avail of the funds. He said that due to the efforts of the Tourism Department and the State Government, Kovalam has regained its glory as a tourist spot. There are a lot of old structures on the stretch between Kowdiar and East Fort. Hence the Government should declare the capital as a heritage city, Mr.Vijayakumaran said.
