An emergent meeting of the council today authorised its chairman, H.C. Shivaramu, to form a sub-committee under his leadership to prepare the objections which would support the Bar Council of India's decision to request for deleting Section 34 (1) of the Advocates' Act itself. A meeting of this sub-committee with the council vice-chairman, K.R. Subbakrishna, S.S. Kumman, S.K. Venkata Reddy, M. Lokesh, and Jayakumar S. Patil as members, is scheduled for Tuesday. The council, Mr. Shivaramu told presspersons here, had requested the Advocate-General to give suggestions to the sub-committee preparing the objections. Notifying the draft rules on November 14, the High Court had given a month's time to file objections to the rules. The draft rules mainly relate to the conduct of advocates in the Court Hall and the court premises. On the new Bar federations, Mr. Shivaramu said such bodies were not recognised by the Bar Council. The council had recognised only 175 Bar associations in the State, he said.
