ISLAMABAD, JAN. 25. The Pakistan Foreign Minister, Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri, has said the Kashmir issue should be resolved to the satisfaction of all parties, including the people of Kashmir to ensure lasting peace in South Asia. "Pakistan has worked hard to achieve peace and creating a peaceful atmosphere in the region and there is nothing to worry about, as the people of Pakistan and India are keen to ensure peace and tranquillity in the sub-continent," Mr. Kasuri told reporters after delivering a lecture on the Foreign Policy of Pakistan under the auspices of the English Speaking Union in Lahore today. Mr. Kasuri said the joint statement of Pakistan and Indian premiers issued at Islamabad on January 6 was a hallmark of fostering peace, removing apprehensions between the two countries. This, he added, would eventually lead to a solution of the core issue of Kashmir. It was good that India had now initiated talks with the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, he said. "We will have to set out proposals on Kashmir acceptable to all the parties to ensure lasting peace in the region," he said. Addressing a seminar on "Indo-Pakistan relations and Kashmir issue" organised by "The Nation-Nawa-e-Waqt" here, the Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Shaikh Rashid Ahmed, said that keeping in view the needs of the electronic media, the Government had established a television channel in Pakistan occupied Kashmir, which would start working from February 5. The President, Pervez Musharraf, would inaugurate the channel and the Prime Minister, Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali, address the joint session of PoK Parliament on February 5.
