Police gave the name of the arrested person as Marlin Chandrappa.

The Superintendent of Police, North Goa, D.P. Verma, told reporters here today that one of the associates of the accused, Palaniswamy, was a jail-breaker. After his escape, he was allegedly working at Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh and came back to Goa recently.

The officer released a picture of Palaniswamy and announced a reward of Rs. 5,000 to those providing information leading to his arrest. Police are also on the look out for another accused, Mahesh.

The 22-year-old Swede national was gang-raped on the Vagator hillock on January 25 at knife-point. Initially they threatened her and demanded money from her.
