KOZHIKODE, JAN. 31. The Ameer of the Jamaat -E- Islami Hind, Kerala, K. A. Siddique Hasan, has in his Bali perunnal message emphasised the significance of sacrifice and total dedication of the faithful while celebrating the festival.

The inner purity of the devotee was as vital as the external celebrations. The festival symbolised the universality of the almighty and equality of humankind. Islam stood for peace. It has become vital in the present circumstances to hold high this tenet of the religion when of late the faith has been misunderstood. In this historic necessity, it was the duty of each devotee to propagate the message of peace.
