Temperature

MADURAI, FEB.4. The city today registered a maximum temperature of 33.6 degree Celsius and a minimum of 22.1 degree Celsius.

Water level

The level in the Vaigai dam stood at 110.4 feet with an inflow of 66 cusecs and a discharge of 250 cusecs. The level in the Vaigai dam was 35.04 feet with an inflow of 172 cusecs and a discharge of 30 cusecs.

The combined Periyar credit was 1362 mcft.

Power cut

There will be power shutdown in the following areas between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on February 7:

K.K. Nagar, Anna Nagar, Tahsildar Nagar, Sadasiva Nagar, Melamadai, Vandiyur, Gomathipuram, Sathamangalam, Mattuthavani integrated bus stand, Ulaganeri, Sankar Nagar, ITI, Karpaga Nagar, K. Pudur, Lourdu Nagar, Azhagar Nagar, Kodikulam, Surveyor Colony, Surya Nagar, Moondrumavadi, Mahalakshmi Nagar, Parasurampatti, G.R. Nagar, Gandhipuram, Aavin Nagar, Burma Colony, Pandi Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Ram Varma Nagar, Ramalakshmi Nagar, Min Nagar and Industrial Estate.

Results

Results of November semester examinations of all B.E. and postgraduate courses, including MCA and MBA, conducted by the Madurai Kamaraj University, have been published.

Students seeking revaluation of answer papers can apply on or before February 18 in the prescribed form along with the required fees, a release from the Controller of Examinations, T. John Sahayam Chelliah, said.

Prohibitory order

The Commissioner of Police, Vijay Kumar, has promulgated an order under Section 41 of the Tamil Nadu City Police Act, 1888, regulating processions, meetings, assemblies, demonstrations, etc in the city for a period of 15 days commencing on February 2. However, those intending to organise such agitations/meetings should apply five days in advance seeking permission.

Grievance meet

The Superintending Engineer, Madurai Distribution Circle, will conduct a consumer grievance day meeting at the office of the Executive Engineer, Electrical, Samayanallur, on Thursday.

The consumers of Samayanallur Division can represent their grievances in person at the meeting.
