PATHANAMTHITTA, FEB. 11. The 109th Maramon convention will be held on the sandbed of river Pampa at Maramon, near Kozhencherry from February 15 to 22. The head of the Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church, Philipose Mar Chrisostum, will inaugurate the week-long convention at 2-30 p.m. on February 15. Valson Thampu, academician and theologian, will deliver the keynote address at the inaugural session. Geevarghese Mar Athanasius Episcopa, president of the Mar Thoma Evangelical Association that organises the annual meet, will preside. All the metropolitans of the Mar Thoma Church will participate in the convention. Bishop John W. Gladwein, Bishop of Chesmford, U.K., Cleophus J. Larue (U.S.) and Martin Paul Alphons will be address the convention, according to the organisers. Bishop George Issac will inaugurate the ecumenical meet to be held at 10-30 p.m. on February 18. The Thiruvalla Bishop of the Malankara Catholic Church, Isaac Mar Clemis, will preside. A meeting against social evils will be held later at 2-30 p.m. Jose Parakkadavil will deliver the keynote address. Special session for the youth will be held at 4 p.m. on February 19 to 21.
