New KPCC chief soon: Patel

NEW DELHI, FEB. 11. The appointment of a new chief for the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) will be delayed by a couple of days.

The AICC general secretary in-charge of Kerala, Ahmed Patel, told mediapersons that it would take at least two more days to announce the new chief.

K. Muraleedharan resigned as the KPCC chief last week and was asked by the AICC to continue in the post till alternative arrangements were made. While resigning to join the Antony Cabinet, Mr. Muraleedharan reportedly requested the party high command to appoint the former Speaker of the Kerala Assembly, P. P. Thankachan, as his successor.— UNI.
