MANGALORE, FEB. 12. The Sandesh Foundation for Culture and Education here has announced the annual Sandesh awards for 2004. Seven individuals and one television serial have been chosen for the awards and three persons for the special recognition award. The chairman of the awards committee, B.A. Vivek Rai, told presspersons today that the award-winners included D. Javare Gowda, former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Mysore (Kannada literature); R. Poornima, Editor of the Bangalore edition of Udayavani, (Journalism); and Celine D'Souza, headmistress, Kulur High School (Best Teacher).
