By Our Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI, MARCH 2. A 22-year-old man was killed and 11 others were injured in separate road accidents reported from different parts of the Capital today.

In the first case, a man was crushed to death under the rear wheels of the Blueline bus he had got down from at Civil Lines this morning. The deceased was later identified as Santosh, a resident of Pul Mithai. Enquiries revealed that Santosh had barely alighted from the bus when it suddenly sped, owing to which he came under the rear wheels and died on the spot.

A case of causing death due to rash and negligent driving has been registered at Civil Lines police station and the bus driver, Ram Pal, arrested.

In another accident reported around noon, a Blueline bus rammed into the road divider on Janpath and then hit a tree leaving 11 of the around 20 passengers injured. The bus driver fled from the scene, while the injured were taken to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. The police said nine of the victims were discharged after first-aid. A Central Reserve Police Force constable, R.K. Yadav, and an eight-year-old boy, Pulkit, were kept under observation till evening.
