BANGALORE, MARCH 15. Even as the dust raised by the Deputy Prime Minister, L.K. Advani's `Bharat Uday Yatra' is yet to settle, the Chief Minister, S.M. Krishna, is setting out on his `Vijaya Dhundubi Yatra' on Thursday seeking the votes of the people for the Congress in the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. Unlike Mr. Advani's continuous yatra, the Chief Minister and the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President, B. Janardhana Poojary, will be touring the State in phases. The first phase will be a short two-day one. According to the programme released by the KPCC today, Mr. Krishna and Mr. Poojary will set out from the former's official residence `Anugraha' at the auspicious time of 8.05 a.m. on Thursday. The yatra will move southward from High Grounds to the Gali Anjaneya Temple on Mysore Road where a special puja will be offered. The two leaders will address their first campaign meeting at the Karnataka Vidyut Kharkhane (KAVIKA) grounds, off Mysore Road, at 10.30 a.m. After the meeting, the `yatriks' will set out on the Hassan-Mangalore highway and address election meetings at Nelamangala, Kunigal and Yediyur. Taking a deviation, they will address meetings at Turuvekere and Tiptur (in Tumkur District) and reach Hassan. On Friday, Mr. Krishna and Mr. Poojary will address election meetings at Hassan (12.30 p.m.) and Kadur in Chikmagalur district in the afternoon. As KPCC President, Mr. Krishna had participated in the `Panchajanya Yatra' in the run-up to the 1999 Assembly elections. In October last year, he had taken out the `Janaspandana Yatra.'
