NEW DELHI, MARCH 19. Four miscreants who had entered the Anand Vihar house of a property dealer probably with the intention of robbing him were forced to flee after the property dealer opened fire at them with his licensed firearm this morning. The miscreants, one of whom sustained bullet injuries, fled in a Tata Indica car that was later found abandoned at some distance. Around 9-15 a.m., the property dealer, Yadram Sharma, was on the first floor of his house at Priya Enclave of Anand Vihar in East Delhi, when his domestic help heard a knock at the door. He opened the door to find four men standing outside. Before he could react, the miscreants overpowered him and asked about Sharma's whereabouts and tried to drag him to the first floor. Meanwhile, Sharma heard the commotion and sensed that something was amiss. He took out his licensed firearm and was coming to the ground floor house when he spotted the culprits on the stairs. He opened fire at them after being challenged. One of the miscreants sustained bullet injuries, due to which they panicked and fled from the scene in a Tata Indica. Subsequently, Mr. Sharma called up the police. During investigations, the Indica was found abandoned at some distance. The vehicle had been stolen from Hauz Khas in South Delhi few days ago. The police have registered a case and launched a hunt for the culprits.
