Kanchi Acharya plans `sadas' at Tirumala

KANCHEEPURAM, MARCH 25 A `sadas' (religious congregation) will be conducted in the third week of May at Tirumala in Andhra Pradesh which will be attended by the heads of all Hindu religious mutts in the country, the Kanchi Sankaracharya, Sri Jayendra Saraswati, said here today.

Addressing a press conference after holding discussions with D.K.Audikesavulu, chairman of the Tirumala-Tirupati Devasthanams Trust Board, Tirupati, at the Sankara Mutt here, the Kanchi Acharya said he had suggested to the TTD Chairman to conduct a larger `sadas.'

The TTD chairman said the Sri Ramanujar or other temples on the prakara in the Tirumala temple would not be removed and pointed out that the Vaikanasa agama sastra would continue to be in vogue in the temple.
