27 students taken ill

Thanjavur March 31. Twenty-seven students and a teacher of a school from Munnar in Kerala were admitted to the Rajah Mirasudhar Government Hospital here on Tuesday after they started vomiting, allegedly because of food poisoning.

The students, from the fifth to eighth standards, were on a tour to Velankanni and they arrived at Thanjavur on Tuesday morning. They visited Saraswathi Mahal Library and the art gallery. In the afternoon, 27 students and a teacher started vomiting and complained of giddiness. They were hospitalised. After treatment they were discharged today at 11 a.m.
