Thiruvananthapuram March 31. The Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI) would contest in 56 Lok Sabha constituencies in as many as 13 States and in 13 Assembly constituencies in three States. Announcing this at a press conference here today, the SUCI central committee member, Krishna Chakraborthy, said that the party would not enter into alliances with other political parties as it believed in building up a strong democratic mass movement to defeat the globalisation policies. The globalisation policy served only the interests of monopolies and the Congress and the BJP had become representatives of these monopolist forces, he said.Mr. Chakraborthy said the SUCI leaders, B. K. Rajagopal would contest from Thiruvananthapuram, Shyla. K. John from Kollam, Parthasarathy Varma from Alappuzha, S. Radhamoni from Mavelikkara, Mini. K. Philip from Kottayam and D. Surendranath from Kozhikode respectively in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. The State secretary of the SUCI, C. K. Lukose, the secretariat member, A. Jalaludeen, and B. K. Rajagopal also attended the press conference.
