KOZHIKODE, MARCH 31. The former Mayor of Kozhikode, T. P. Dasan, who was expelled from the CPI(M) for alleged involvement in the `ice-cream parlour' case has been taken back into the party. The CPI(M) district secretary, V. V. Dakshinamoorthy, told The Hindu today that it was decided to grant party membership to Mr. Dasan once again since he had maintained absolute discipline and in recognition of his good conduct after his expulsion. His conduct was being closely monitored after he was expelled. The decision to reinstate party membership to Mr. Dasan was taken at a meeting of the CPI(M) 's district committee. He has been asked to work with the Thottathil branch committee. Mr. Dasan was a frontline party activist and the CPI(M) leader in the Kozhikode Corporation Council at the time of his expulsion. The charge against him was that he took part in a conspiracy related to the ice-cream parlour case.
