Judges resume work

By Our Staff Correspondent

CHANDIGARH, APRIL 20 . Twenty-five Judges of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, who had gone on leave yesterday, resumed work this morning. This follows the direct intervention by the Supreme Court, which had deputed two of its senior Judges to defuse the situation arising out of the differences between the Judges and the Chief Justice of the High Court.

Sources said that the Judges had informed the Court of their decision to resume work in the "changed circumstances." It is believed that the two- member team from the Supreme Court, while urging the Judges to resume work immediately, assured them of an amicable solution to the issue.

The president of the Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association, Anmol Rattan Singh Sidhu, welcomed the Supreme Court initiate.
