Kale to appear before disciplinary committee

KOLKATA, APRIL 27. Maharashtra batsman Abhijit Kale, who allegedly offered bribe to two National selectors to get into the Indian team prior to the tour of Australia, will appear before the three-member Board disciplinary committee here on Thursday.

The Board's office here informed that Kale's reply to the show cause notice would be discussed by the committee comprising BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya and two vice-presidents Kamal Morarka and Ranbir Singh Mahendra. The two National selectors — Kiran More and Pranab Roy — would also be present during the deliberation. Earlier, a one-man commission of D.V. Subba Rao, chairman of the Bar Council of India, found prima facie case against Kale.
