NEW DELHI, MAY 1. The All-India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarrat (AIMMM), an influential Muslim organisation, has appealed to the community to turn out in large numbers to vote for the candidates endorsed by the Congress and the parties associated with it. Of the 83 constituencies going to the polls on May 5 there are 16 constituencies in which there is a sizable concentration of Muslims. The AIMMM has issued a kind of advisory to the community by naming the particular candidate to whom they should vote. In Bihar, it has asked Muslims to vote for RJD, NCP, Lok Janashakti Party, and CPI (M) candidates. In Kishanganj, it has asked the community to vote for the Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate, Taslimuddin, while in Purena it has advised people to vote for Pappu Yadav of the LJP. The others who figure in the list are Tariq Anwar of the NCP in Katihar, Subodh Roy of the CPI (M) in Bhagalpur. In Jammu & Kashmir, it has endorsed the candidature of Mehbooba Mufti from Anantnag. The AIMMM has advised the community to vote for Congress candidates in Satna in Madhya Pradesh; Jaipur, Bharatpur, Ajmer, Barmer in Rajasthan; and Shahabad Sitapur, Lucknow, Fatehpur, Farrukhabad and Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh.
