HYDERABAD, MAY 8. The chief spokesperson of the APCC, K. Rosaiah, has asked the Chief Minister, N.Chandrababu Naidu, to ensure that there is no constitutional crisis after the declaration of the results as the Assembly has to be constituted by May 13. Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Mr.Rosaiah said the six-month deadline for the Assembly constitution would lapse on May 13 and hence the present Government should pave way for a smooth transition without creating any hurdles. Recalling the demand of the APCC for the imposition of President's Rule in the State, Mr.Rosaiah said the situation was unprecedented as no caretaker Government continued for six months in AP earlier. "Knowing the penchant of Mr. Naidu for unconstitutional and unlawful interpretations in governance, it will not be strange if he tries to create another crisis," he said. Instead of looking into aspects of governance, Mr. Naidu was frittering away time in astrological guesswork dreaming to form the Government once again, he said. He should stop reviews of his party work and concentrate on more pressing administrative matters, Mr.Rosaiah said, asking the TDP chief to brace himself to play the role of Opposition leader in the new Assembly. Referring to the latest prediction of the Minister, B.V.Mohan Reddy, that the TDP Government would be in place on May 13, Mr.Rosaiah said had the same astrologer not predicted earlier that Mr.Naidu would take oath as the CM for the third term on November 27, 2004, some one would have taken him seriously. It was only to please his masters, he said. Perhaps the Minister should know that it was not the stars but the people who were against the TDP and the EVMs had a different `Jatakam' for the ruling party.
