Five hurt

in clash

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, MAY 15. Five persons were injured in a clash between LDF and UDF workers at Puthukurichy under the Kadhinamkulam police station limits late tonight. A police team rushed to the spot and brought the tense situation under control. Police said the verbal altercation between the rival groups had erupted into a clash. All the injured were admitted to the Medical College Hospital. Hospital sources said most of the victims had been hacked. None of the injured are in a critical condition, they said. A police team led by the Attingal Dy.SP. is camping in the area.

Lecture on diabetes

A public lecture programme on the prevention of kidney and heart complications in diabetic patients will be organised here on May 25 under the auspices of the British Council and the Indian Institute of Diabetes. A. Vimala, Tiny Nair and Ashok Kumar Das will address the programme to be held at the lecture hall in the British Library. Canara Bank

ATM opened

An Automated Teller Machine (ATM) installed by the Canara Bank at Neyyatinkara was opened today. The bank circle office general manager, G. Umesh Shenoy, inaugurated the centre. Mr. Shenoy handed over ATM cards to 10 customers.
