VISAKHAPATNAM, MAY 19. The Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) has extended the last date for the benefit scheme of two-thirds penal interest reduction and two per cent incentive on balance principal amount up to August 31 this year. The scheme applies to those allotted space in VUDA housing colonies and layouts who come under the quarterly instalment schemes, according to the Vice-chairman of VUDA, D. Sreenivasulu. He added that it applies only to those who pay the entire dues and outstanding principal. He said the scheme was introduced last year and its last date had already been extended twice. Keeping in view the overwhelming response and requests for extension, it was decided to extend it further, he said.
