Spell of rain likely A spell of rain or thundershowers are likely in some areas on Thursday. The maximum temperature will be around 41 degree C.

At Waltair, the maximum temperature was 34.6 degree C and the minimum was 28.5 degree C respectively on Wednesday. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 61 per cent and at 5.30 p.m. 71 per cent. At Airport, the maximum and minimum temperatures were 43.2 and 31 degrees C respectively. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 63 per cent and at 5.30 p.m. 39 per cent.

The maximum and minimum temperatures at the Dolphin's Nose were 36.9 and 26.8 degrees C respectively. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 58 per cent.

No ropeway for two days The Kailasagiri ropeway will remain closed on Thursday and Friday for maintenance work, according to a communication from its operators, Conveyor and Ropeway Services Private Limited.

Congressmen stage dharna The city Congress on Wednesday staged a dharna in front of the Rajiv Gandhi statue near its office, demanding the AICC president, Sonia Gandhi, to reconsider her decision.

Soft drink stalls raided The Legal Metrology Department conducted special checks and booked cases against unscrupulous traders who were selling soft drinks at prices higher than that shown on bottles.

The raids were conducted at cinema halls, bus station, railway station, VUDA Park, Kailasagiri, Shivaji Park, Beach Road and Rushikonda.
