Laloo to meet officials of naxal-infested States

NEW DELHI, MAY 25. The Railway Minister, Laloo Prasad Yadav, today took the initiative to call for a meeting of Directors-General of Police and Home Secretaries of naxal-affected States to work out measures for the safe movement of trains in those areas.

Addressing the Board's first meeting, Mr. Yadav, who yesterday declared that passenger safety would be his first priority, suggested that action be taken to check carrying of gas cylinders and other inflammable material in passenger trains in the interest of safety of passengers and railway property.
