Titanium trounces Nilgiris DFA
KAYALPATNAM,
MAY 27.
Titanium Sports Club (Thiruvananthapuram) trounced Nilgiris District Football Association 6-1 to storm into the semifinals of the 39th Moulana Abul Kalam Azad memorial Trophy all-India football tournament at the United Sports Club ground here on Thursday.
Titanium dominated right from the start and centre-forward Ebin Rose put the team ahead in the 19th minute with a long ranger. He made it 2-0 in the 30th minute firing home off a cross from the right. Stopper-back Shabeer scored the third goal in the 35th minute while outside-right volleyed a Martin cross for the fourth goal in the 50th minute.
Rafi (64th and 75th) completed the tally while striker Sebastin found the consolation goal for Nilgiris midway through the second half.
