Pilgrimage suspended

JAMMU, JUNE 13. Pilgrimage to the Vaishno Devi cave shrine was suspended this evening due to a heavy rush of devotees at Katra.

``The pilgrimage has been suspended for 12 hours from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. as 40,000 people are already in the waiting list at Katra,'' the Deputy Inspector General of Police (Udhampur-Doda), Satveer Gupta, said.

Yesterday also, 20,000 people were stopped at Katra and the yatra was suspended for a few hours. — UNI
