No `clean chit' on Kargil: Pranab

NEW DELHI, JUNE 19. The Defence Minister, Pranab Mukherjee, today asserted that the Government has not given a ``clean chit'' to anyone on the Kargil conflict and said only facts had been presented in Parliament.

He was talking to reporters on the sidelines of the flag-in ceremony of the Navy's Mount Everest expedition.

`Agni-III test-firing when required'

India will conduct tests of its most powerful missile Agni-III capable of striking upto a distance of 3,000 km ``when required,'' Mr. Mukherjee said today amid indications that the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) had completed preparations for the trials.

``We will conduct the tests as and when required,'' he said when asked when the country would go ahead with the trials already put off twice since late last year. — UNI, PTI
