Sinking a record, staying afloat

ADILABAD, JUNE 29. Ramesh Chandra Kulkarni, a 37-year-old Senior Assistant at Panchayat Raj Office, Luxettipet came out of the Indira Priyadarshini stadium swimming pool at 9 a.m. on Tuesday to wild applause. The reason - he had stayed afloat for 24 hours. The Adilabad MP, T. Madhusudan Reddy, the Superintendent of Police, Kripa Nanda Tripathi Ujela, Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer, S. Rajaiah, were present to felicitate him on this feat. Also egging him on was a sizeable crowd, including his wife and two children.

Mr. Kulkarni plans to claim a slot in the Limca Book of Records with this achievement.
