BANGALORE, JULY 1. For more than three decades, the Prasanna Kumar Memorial soccer tournament has been a regular feature in the local calendar. It is for the second rung teams and this year's edition fell into Postal's bag at the end of an interesting duel with Southern Blues. The final had its moments of action in what was predominantly a mid-field melange. Postal, by far the better side on the day, duly stamped its superiority with a 1-0 victory, the winning goal coming off a well directed header by rather aptly named Einstein, a lovely cross of great purpose coming from Kodanadapani midway through the second half to set the score up. The defence was taken completely by surprise and Blues' goalkeeper Kodandaraman had sadly moved well away from his post. The angle may have been challenging for Einstein but he made a rather difficult header seem so easy in the end. In a way Einstein justified his inclusion as a substitute for Velu in the first half. Looking back over the contest, Southern Blues may end up regretting that one glorious chance it had to level the scores in the closing stages. The wiry Nirmal nearly lobbed the ball in. Nearly. Once that peril had passed, it was obvious, Postal would hold dearly on to that Einstein strike. Our Special Correspondent
