JAIPUR, JULY 1. Karnataka swimmers set four of the six new meet records on the second day of the national junior aquatic championships here on Thursday. Karnataka's Sandeep set a new mark in boys' 1500m (group II) clocking 18:04.69. He eclipsed the previous mark of 18:26.90 set by compatriot Rohit Hawaldar in 2003. Ashwin Menon (18:23.10) finished second, while Pranoy Adhikari (18:53.81) came third. In group I boys' 800m race, Rohit Hawaldar sank Chetan Sharma's mark with a time of 8:55.82 seconds. Although Sharma bettered his own record, he finished second with 8:56.54. Rohit Gupta of Delhi was third clocking 9:13.89. In the girls' section, Aarti Ghorpade erased C. Subha's record (20:32.97) in 1500m (group II) clocking 19:36.87.
Group I: 4x100m relay: 1. Kar (3:53:35), 2. Mah (3:58:56), 3. WB (4:02:49).
Girls: Group II: 1500m: 1. Aarti Ghorpade (Mah, 19:36:87, NMR), M. Kshipra (Kar, 19:52:20), 3. Justin Mellowcastro (Mah, 19:52:26); 4x100 m relay: 1. Kar (4:25:69, NMR), 2. Mah (4:29:21), 3. TN (4:43:39). Group I: 800 m: 1. B. Sivaranjani (Kar, 9:46:89), 2. T. Shipla Naidu (AP, 10:17:17), 3. Pratibha Joglekar (Mah, 10:22:68); 4x100m freestyle: 1. Kar (4:23:50, NMR), TN (4:34:33), 3.
