LEEDS, JULY 1. England captain Michael Vaughan won the toss at Headingley and chose to bowl first against the West Indies in the fifth one-day match of the triangular series on Thursday. England, which has lost two straight matches since rain washed out the opener against New Zealand, included Andrew Flintoff and Robert Key in an effort to bolster its batting. Allrounder Ian Blackwell and left-arm spinner Ashley Giles were dropped. Flintoff, originally ruled out of the series with an injured left ankle, would not bowl. Key will bat No. 3, with wicketkeeper Geraint Jones slipping down the order after holding the spot in earlier matches. The West Indies named the same 11 who played in its opening two matches. The West Indies beat England at Nottingham on Sunday, while its opener was also rained out.
England: Michael Vaughan (capt), Marcus Trescothick, Robert Key, Andrew Strauss, Paul Collingwood, Andrew Flintoff, Anthony McGrath, Geraint Jones, Darren Gough, Stephen Harmison, James Anderson. AP
