Avanthi Engg. College is champion

VISAKHAPATNAM, JULY 2. Avanthi Engineering College won a district-level cricket tournament, beating Zenith CC by eight wickets with four balls to spare in the final. G. Vijay Sankar Varma slammed an unbeaten knock of 162 runs (6 x 7, 4 x 13) for the winner.

The scores: Zenith C.C. 278 for five in 40 overs (R. Ravikumar 76, P. Srinivasa Rao 53, N. Krishna Prasad 48) lost to Avanthi Engineering College 281 for two in 39.2 overs (G. Vijay Sankar Varma 162 n.o., M. Vinod Reddy 61, B. Srikanth Yadav 31).

Man of the Match: G. Vijay Sankar Varma. Best bowler: V. Gopal Reddy (Royal Blues CC). Best wicketkeeper: N. Raj Kumar (Zenith CC). Best all-rounder: R. Ravikumar (Zenith CC). Player of the Tournament: G. Vijay Sankar Varma.
