RSC's play for gold

KOCHI, JULY 2. The Servo RSC `play for gold' South India Open badminton tournament will be held at the Rajiv Gandhi indoor stadium here from July 15 to 18.

Top stars, including a few internationals from Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Pondicherry and Kerala will figure in the tournament.

"A few Petroleum players, including international Abhin Shyam Gupta, are also likely to come," said the organising secretary S.A.S. Navaz.

The event is organised by the Regional Sports Centre and Indian Oil Corporation is the main sponsor. More than 20 gold sovereigns will be up for grabs in the tournament, which is now in its fourth year.

Competition for men, women, and veterans and for boys and girls in the under-10, 13, 16 and 19 age-groups will be conducted on eight wooden courts.

Entries, routed through the respective district/State associations or institutions, are to reach S.A.S.
