Eight practice wickets for camp

CHENNAI, JULY 2. Eight `practice' wickets have been prepared for the Asia Cup probables camp, which begins at the Chidambaram Stadium here on Saturday.

The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association secretary, C.R. Vijayaraghavan, said, "four strips are in the middle and two on either sides of the ground. We have received instructions to provide batting tracks. But options are available, if need arises."

Indian coach John Wright was expected to reach the city late on Friday. Most of the 20 probables had arrived by the afternoon.

Former England opener Geoff Boycott, who is to spend two days at the camp providing his expertise on batsmanship, is expected on Saturday evening.

The morning session commences at 6.30.
