Eleven more records sink
JAIPUR,
JULY 2.
As many as eleven records were shattered on the third day of the National junior aquatic championships here on Friday.
With 28 gold medals, 16 silver and 12 bronze, Karnataka remained on top followed by Maharashtra with 15 gold, 18 silver and 13 bronze.
The day saw seven records being rewritten in individual events, while four were set in relay events.
The race of the day was 100 m butterfly in boys' group 1, which saw Aniketh D'souza creating new record clocking 59.24 seconds. Arjun Murlidharan of Karnataka finished second with 59.50.
C. Shubha of Karnataka created a new record in 100m butterfly in the girls' group I with 1:06.71 to leave the second spot for her State-mate V. Sivaranjini, who too bettered the meet record with 1:07.10. PTI
