BANGALORE, JULY 2. P. Puneet of Horizon and Poojitha of SAI claimed the cadet boys and cadet girls' singles titles in the BDTTA State-ranking table tennis championship at the KSTRC community hall here today. Puneet, after trailing 1-2, came back strongly to notch up a 9-11, 11-3, 6-11, 11-7, 11-7 victory over Rohan B. Shaw in the cadet boys singles final. Poojitha ran into stiff resistance from Bhavana N. Murthy, before prevailing at 11-6, 11-4, 8-11, 10-12, 11-7.
Horizon `A' team bagged the `B' division team championship beating TTBNM 3-0.
Cadet boys (final): P. Puneet bt Rohan B. Shaw 9-11, 11-3, 6-11, 11-7, 11-7. Semi-finals: Rohan B. Shaw bt Hiremath 11-9, 11-9, 11-9; P. Puneet bt Charan 11-8, 11-7, 7-11, 11-5.
Cadet girls (final): N. Poojitha bt Bhavana 11-6, 11-4, 8- 11, 10-12, 11-7. Semi-finals: N. Poojitha bt Vijesha 11-7, 11-5, 11-3; Bhavana bt Jeevitha 11-9, 11-7, 11-4.
`B' Division team final: Horizon bt TTBNM 3-0 (Bharath M. Urs bt Navya 8-11, 11-5, 11-6, 11-7; R. Navneet bt Deepak 11-8, 10-12, 11-5, 11-4; Akhil Ahtreya bt Aneep 8-11, 11-7, 11-7, 11-6).
