BANGALORE, JULY 2. Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited swamped Pioneer Corps Training Centre 5-0 in the third phase of the V. Karunakaran and D.S. Murthy memorial hockey tournament at the KSHA Stadium here on Friday.

BPCL held the upper hand through the entire duration of the game. Sandeep Michael scored the first and the last goals for his side opening the account in the 10th and signing off in the 65th minute. In the interim, drag flicker Len Aiyappa scored twice off penalty corners in the 12th and 51st minutes and Ravi Naicker pitched in with a goal in the 52nd minute.

In another match, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited beat arch rivals Canara Bank by the odd goal in three. Deepak Aakash slotted home the first goal in the 23rd minute and M.B. Chinnappa pus HAL two ahead in the 38th minute. Canara Bank got its consolation goal off a penalty corner conversion in the 50th minute.

The third fixture of the day Bharat Electronics Limited and Central Excise played out a goalless draw. The match was a scrappy affair with both teams getting a number of green cards for their rough tactics.
