MIAMI, JULY 4. Former WBA super-featherweight champion Joel Casamayor won a unanimous decision over Daniel Seda on Saturday night. A native of Cuba, Casamayor frustrated Seda early in the 10-round lightweight bout with lead rights and lefts to the head. Early in the fifth, Casamayor (31-2) floored Seda with a left and combinations to the head. But Seda (20-1-1) survived the knockdown and later in the fifth knocked down Casamayor with a left-right combination to the head. Seda, 28, chased Casamayor in the final rounds and landed short rights to the head. But the 32-year-old Casamayor continued scoring with lefts and rights to the head. All three judges had Casamayor winning, 98-92. Casamayor, a native of Cuba who lives in South Florida, and Seda, of Puerto Rico, both weighed 133 pounds (59.85 kilograms). In an earlier fight at the American Airlines Arena, Eliseo Castillo unanimously outpointed two-time heavyweight champion Michael Moorer. Castillo, who left Cuba in 1994, used his boxing skills to frustrate the slower Moorer in the 10-round bout. Castillo (18-0-1) received winning scores of 97-93 from two of the judges and the third scored it 99-91. The 36-year-old Moorer, who had a 251 (113) to 215 pound (97 kilogram) weight advantage, dropped to 46-4-1. In an intense eighth round, Castillo pinned Moorer on the ropes and connected with combinations to the body while Moorer landed right uppercuts, and lefts and rights to the head. AP
