Railway Ministry triumphs

NEW DELHI, JULY 5. Ministry of Railways retained the team title with 17.5 points in the inter-Ministry chess tournament at the Nirman Bhawan hall here on Monday.

The results (fifth round): Railways (17.5) bt Commerce (11) 4-0; Power (13.5) bt Lok Sabha Secretariat (9) 3-1; Defence (12.5) bt Communication (9.5) 2.5-1.5.

Final standings: 1. Railways (17.5); 2. Power (13.5); 3. Defence (12.5); 4. Commerce and Industry (11); 5. Communication (9.5); 6. Lok Sabha (9); 7. Information and Broadcasting (5) and 8. Statistics and Programme Implementation.
