Five arrested for alleged involvement in Godhra carnage

By Our Special Correspondent

AHMEDABAD, JULY 5. The police have arrested five more persons in connection with the Godhra train carnage today. While two persons had been arrested for their alleged involvement in the carnage, three had been picked up for providing shelter to the accused in the incident.

Meanwhile, today's proceedings before the G. T. Nanavati-K.G. Shah judicial inquiry commission probing the train carnage and the post-Godhra communal riots in Gujarat was deferred to a later date as the police officer who was to be cross-examined reported sick.
