CHITRADURGA, JULY 6. Banks in Chitradurga have advanced around Rs. 180.94 crore in the priority sector, meeting the target for the first quarter of 2004-05. Under agricultural advances, the achievement is 91 per cent with disbursals of Rs. 110.81 crore as against the target of Rs. 121.4 crore. Chairing a meeting of the bankers' district consultative committee and the district-level review committee on Tuesday, Narayanaswamy, Chief Executive Officer of the zilla panchayat, expressed satisfaction over the achievement. S.S. Purvimuth, Lead Bank Manager, explained the achievements of the banks. The achievement in advances under the small-scale industries or the non-farm sector is 143 per cent with the banks disbursing Rs. 16.56 crore as against the target of Rs. 11.61 crore. The achievement in advances under services is 112 per cent with the banks disbursing Rs. 53.57 crore as against the target of Rs. 47.63 crore. Crop loan disbursement is Rs. 91.83 crore as against the target of Rs. 77.03 crore. Challakere block stands first with 118 per cent achievement in priority sector advances. Molakalmuru block stands at the bottom with 47 per cent achievement. Hosadurga block has made 112 per cent achievement, Chitradurga block 104 per cent, Hiriyur block 100 per cent and Holalkere 87 per cent.
