Stars galore for Vivek's charity match

NEW DELHI, JULY 6. A galaxy of former hockey stars will be seen in action at the Shivaji Stadium here on Wednesday when they play a charity match to raise funds for their ailing mate Vivek Singh.

Zafar Iqbal, Ashok Kumar, Ajitpal Singh, M.P. Ganesh, M.M. Somaya, V. Baskaran, Mohammad Naim, Mohammad Shahid, Merwyn Fernandes, Aslam Sher Khan, B.P. Govinda, Harbinder Singh, Mukesh Kumar, Joaquim Carvalho, Pargat Singh, V.J. Phillips and Ashish Balal have confirmed their participation for the match against an Indian women's selection.

Vivek Singh is suffering from cancer and the match, to be held at 3.30 p.m, is being organised by the Hockey Journalists Association. Union Sports Minister Sunil Dutt will be the chief guest.
