Impressive show by Bangalore Zone

BANGALORE, JULY 6. Bangalore Zone defeated Vice-President's XI by 69 runs while Combined City XI beat Bangalore City by 46 runs, in KSCA's inter-District under-17 cricket tournament here on Tuesday.

The highlight of Combined City's victory was a 124-ball 100 (15 fours) by Manish R. Alse.

The top order batted creditably for Bangalore Zone, with Vikas Baldia , Vivek Kumar and Karan scoring half centuries. Nitin also made an unbeaten 50.

Brief scores: Bangalore Zone: 273 for 3 in 50 overs (Vikas Baldia 58, Vivek Kumar 56, Karan 50, Nitin. B 50, Sumanth 2 for 56) bt Vice-President's XI 204 for 8 in 50 overs (Hemanth Kumar 26, Deepak 28, Meeth 55 n.o, Sumanth 38, Kalappa 4 for 32, Sashank 2 for 31).

Combined City XI 239 for 4 in 50 overs (Manish Alse 100, Manjunath Bhat 49, Vimaljeet 28 n.o) bt Bangalore City 193 in 48.3 overs (Abhishek Bharadwaj 28, Vignesh Sharma 36, Vikas Raj 32, Arjun Shetty 4 for 25, Vimaljeet 2 for 30).
