Four centuries during rainy weekend

BANGALORE, JULY 6. Four centuries marked the KSCA league matches played over the weekend and most of the encounters, marred by rain, ended as drawn encounters.

Nidhuvan N. Gotadke made 140 for Herons CC which drew with Swastic Union in a first division match. Shyam Ponnappa scored 108 for FUCC which drew with Swastic Union (2).

In the second division, S. Das (139) and Praveen Pawan (107) slammed hundreds for Chamarajpet CC which drew with Vultures CC.

In another second division match, a fiery spell by Sanjay Naidu, who claimed five for 11, helped Jupiter Cricket Association beat Jolly Cricketers by 173 runs.

I division: Herons CC 351 for six (Nidhuvan N. Gotadke 140, K.S.T. Sai 42, Sasikumar 96) drew with Swastic Union, in a rain curtailed match.

FUCC 294 for five in 41 overs including 30 penalty runs (Shyam Ponnappa 108, Sandeep Murthy 64, Akhil 51) drew with Swastic Union (2) 99 for five in 26.1 overs.

Jawahar SC (1) 273 for eight in 55 overs (Vinay Kumar 47, Karthik 88, L. Prashnath 30 n.o., Pramod Kutty five for 82) drew with City Cricketers (1) 152 for two in 31.5 overs (M. S. Hemanth 74 n.o., B. N. Girish 68).

Malleswaram Gymkhana 225 for three in 35 overs (S. N. Amit 57, Mithun Beerla 81, Vijay Madyalkar 36 n.o., B. Rajshekar three for 58) drew with Wadiyar CC 159 for six (Charles Mathew Rajshekar 40 n.o., Vinay Kumar three for 36).

II division: Chamarajpet CC 288 for eight in 60 overs (S. Das 139, Praveen Pawar 107, Wagle four for 32) drew with Vultures CC 94 for three (Sanjay Kalyanpur 46 n.o., Kapil four for 39).

Jolly Cricketers 249 for five in 58 overs (Vijay 69, Prashanth 34, Moti Mahesh 31, Subramanya 65) drew with Gary Cricketers 128 for three (Harsha Tiptur 56, Vinay V. Kumar 65 n.o.).

Jupiter CA 266 for six in 47 overs (S. Mithun 70, B. A. Vinay 64, Sawan 38, Karthik Koushik 54) beat Jolly Cricketers 93 (Sanjay Naidu five for 11).

Rajaji Nagar Colts CA 133 for six in 47 overs (Vivek Kumar 52) drew with Jawans CC. Rain stopped the match.

Young Cricketers 212 (Rizwin 25, Venkatesh 39, B. Gangadhar three for 46,G. R. Sriram five for 60) drew with Mount Joy CC 66 for three. Rain halted play.

III division: BUCC (2) 262 for six (Rohan Menon 80, Ajaz Ahmed 94, K. R. Kishore four for 82) drew with Friends CC 239 for four including 10 penalty runs (Ramamurthy 87, K. R. Kishore 56, Kalyan 61 n.o.). Rain stopped play.

BUCC (2) 258 (Ajrun Hegde 36, Vikar 33 n.o., Ajendra 35, Ashwin Dravid 40, Mujtaba 85) drew with Doorvani Cricketers (1) 94 for one (Timothy 31 n.o., Sandeep 51 ).
